⏰ Service 8 — A Complete Egg Dinner Party (3 Courses)
← Block 7–8: Stocks & Eggs Overview
The challenge: Cook a 3-course egg-forward dinner for at least two people, without recipes open in front of you during service.
| Course | Dish | Link |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | Deviled Eggs (vehicle for your homemade mayo from Block 6) | Recipe |
| Main | Shakshuka (scaled up, served family-style with salad and bread) | Recipe |
| Dessert | Crème Brûlée (classic baked egg custard, finished with a torch) | Recipe |
Skill targets: Proper custard texture in the crème brûlée. Perfectly poached eggs in the shakshuka. Smooth, properly seasoned deviled egg filling from scratch.
You've been cooking for eight weeks with deliberate intention. Before Block 9 (Seasoning & Flavor Building), write five sentences:
- What is the technique you're most proud of?
- What still feels unnatural?
- What recipe from the past 8 weeks did you want to make again?
- What did you learn that changed how you think about food?
- What do you want to tackle in the next 8 weeks?
